Watches are not only practical items but they are also be great accessories that can compliment an outfit or look, and so it is important that you choose the right watch to suit your style and budget.
Watch Types
There are many different types of watch available from high tech to traditional and these include:
* Mechanical - these traditional watches are made with cogs and gears and will need winding up, and although these are beautiful pieces of craftsmanship they do gradually lose time over the weeks and so need constant readjustment. You can get automatic mechanical watches that are self-winding, which can be a compromise between reliability and tradition.
* Battery Power Quartz – this is one of the most common types of watch available as it is reliable, practical and robust and because you do not have to wind up the watch it keeps very accurate time (although you will have to replace the battery every two-three years).
* Digital – this newer technology uses LED lights to display the time on a digital read out, rather than using a traditional analogue clock face and hands, and can tell you the time very accurately down to tenths of a second.
* Anadigi – these watches are a hybrid of analogue and digital watches and contain both a clock face and a digital LED display.
